Dear Students,
The Bethany Career Center offers extensive career services to help undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni to identify and achieve their career goals. We also works closely with employers and corporate partners to help them find students for full-time, part-time, summer internship, or co-op positions. Voted #1 for "Best College in West Virginia for Getting a Job" by the Zippia (2018), we offer personalized service to help students and alumni explore their interests and assess their skills and values to make smart decisions related to their majors and careers. Each year, the Career Center hosts a wide variety of events—including career fairs, workshops, meetings with potential employers, and mock interviews—to give students and alumni the edge they need to succeed upon graduation. We will be available to assist you with cover letters, resumes, LinkedIn assistance, interview practice, job/internship searches, and any questions that you might have. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and you might struggle to know where to even begin. Often the most difficult part of the process is getting started. We are here to assist you with your entire journey and make it as easy as possible. Although we've been temporarily disrupted, we are still here to help you and be a part of your success. Kind regards, Amy |

Sydnee Lipscomb Hello! My name is Sydnee and I'm a Junior, an Alpha Xi Delta and Biology Major. I'm from Gaithersburg, Maryland and I want to be a trauma surgeon in the army after Medical School. As a Career Peer Mentor, I help students update their resumes, find undergraduate internships or entry-level positions, and help students become better prepared to enter the post-graduate workforce. I love being a CPM, it is extremely rewarding to watch students come to my office worried about jobs, internships, or anything like that, and leave more prepared than they felt before. I want to expand how acquainted students are with this portion of Bethany College, because it is so critical in post-graduate preparation. If you see me on campus feel free to say hello! Tiffany Ajayi Hi! My name is Tiffany and I am a senior majoring in Communications and Public Relations. I am excited to be a CPM so that I can help guide students to career opportunities and show them what the OCPD has to offer and what resources are available. As freshmen, we take many things for granted and don’t take advantage of the opportunities available to us. I know that as a CPM, I can use my experiences and training to better prepare students for internships, graduate school or a career. Giving back means a lot to me, and makes my time worthwhile. I hope to be able to continue to bring career resources to Bethany College students and to help ensure that we are doing everything that we can to ensure that students feel prepared and ready to achieve their career goals! |
