This is an 8-week program promoting the school success of West Virginia children in reading. Become an Energy Express member and be available to continuously serve from June 10 to July 30 and be at least 18 years of age by June 10, 2021. We are hiring Members to serve as Mentors (must be a college-bound high school senior, a current college student, or a recent college graduate with no full-time employment) and Community Coordinators (does not have to be a college student). Our Members make learning fun for small groups of school-age children by creating a safe, enriching environment focused on reading, writing, art and drama.

U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program (Sept.2020)
(Unpaid) - 2021 Summer
The purpose of the program is to provide students with insight into the work of U.S. foreign policy and the administration of the U.S. Department of State and its diplomatic facilities around the world.  Specific duties and responsibilities vary according to the domestic office or overseas post of assignment.

  1. Be a United States citizen. 
  2. Be at least 16 years old. 
  3. Be in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA or higher. 
  4. Be pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree. 
  5. Be a college junior, senior, or graduate student with at least 60 credit hours—You are considered a college junior if you will be starting your junior year immediately following the completion of your internship.  
  6. Be enrolled in an accredited academic institution on at least a part-time basis at the time of application for the internship.  The individual may qualify as a "student" even if the individual has a break in classes, as long as the break is no longer than five months at the time the individual begins the internship. 
  7. Be a continuing student—This means that you will be returning to or have the intention at the time of application of returning to your course of study the semester/quarter immediately following the completion of your internship – i.e. returning to school in the fall of 2021.  Proof may be requested. 
  8. Be able to receive and maintain a security clearance or Public Trust certificate.

Jefferson County Community Health worker will work directly under the Director of Nursing. o Call residents with COVID-19 and other communicable diseases who are in self-isolation with mild symptoms, and monitor them for worsening symptoms
o Provide moral support and organize delivery services with local partners for residents who are positive with COVID-19 and other communicable diseases
o With nurse supervision, monitor patients for worsening symptoms, and when to seek medical care or call their primary care physician.
